Could you take up the Mini Marathon challenge?

LOCAL ladies who fancy undertaking a sporting challenge while raising much needed funds for the Southern Area Hospice charity, have been urged to register for the Women’s 10k Mini Marathon in Dublin in June.

Now in its 31st year, the Mini Marathon has become the biggest all women’s event of its kind in the world.

Monday June 3 will see over 40,000 women take to the streets of Dublin to raise money for charity.

A great day’s fun is in store for all participants whether they walk, jog or run (or do a combination of the three!)

Fiona Kieran, from the Southern Area Hospice, who will be running for the tenth time, appeals to ladies throughout the region to take part in the event this year.

Fiona said: “Last year more than 60 women took part for Southern Area Hospice and we had a brilliant day out. The organisation of the event in Dublin was fantastic, especially considering the fact that there were over 40,000 women present!

“I also want to thank everyone who participated last year and helped us to raise such a huge amount of money. I look forward to seeing new and old faces on June 3 and hope we are as successful again.”
