Council agree Sail West funding partnership

Head of Development Services, Ms Moira Mann, told councillors at last Tuesday night's Policy and Development meeting that signing up to the Sail West Project would secure almost 170,000 Euros in funding to go towards the regeneration of Portrush Harbour.

Ms Mann added that the project also seeks to provide employment, investment in new infrastructure and develop a brand and strategy to promote coastal regions from Sligo to Co Down and the West Coast of Scotland.

In addition to the funding for infrastructure and feasibility assessments money is also available for marketing over a three year period for the lead partner, Donegal County Council, and its partners.

Councillors also agred to proceed with the procurement of the Portrush Harbour technical study.
