Council bids warm farewell to HE District Manager

LISBURN City Council has hosted a reception in the Mayor’s Parlour to mark the retirement of one of the best known faces in the Housing Executive, Mrs Jill England.

Current and former elected representatives of the Council attended the reception along with her colleagues.

Mrs England, who was awarded the MBE in 2002, loyally served the Lisburn community during her time working as District Manager in the Antrim Street office.

The Mayor of Lisburn, Councillor Brian Heading, said: “It is a privilege to thank Jill on behalf of the Council and it’ Elected Members for the assistance she has provided over the years.

“The work of Jill and her team has been of great help and importance, especially over recent years in the restricted economic climate. When the personal finances of individuals in the Lisburn area were under strain and they unfortunately fell into arrears in their rent and other housing payments, Jill and her team provided confidential help and advice.

“Jill was dedicated to working with everyone who used the Housing Executive and provided guidance direct to tenants and householders or to their elected representatives.

“I would like to thank Jill for her commitment and wish her a very happy and long retirement; and also say that she will be very sadly missed by everyone who had the pleasure to work with her,” he concluded.
