Council call for help to all businesses

BALLYMONEY Borough Council has been sending out surveys to businesses in the Ballymoney area in order to prioritise its economic development actions for the next 2 years.

The feedback from the businesses through this survey is vital to ensure that any actions that the Council’s Economic Development Unit takes meet the needs of local businesses. The survey has been set out so that it is quick and easy to complete and should take only a few moments.

Receiving a copy of the questionnaire, Development Committee Chair, Cllr John Finlay stated, ‘It is essential that our local small businesses, which are often family businesses, are supported through these tough times, but to enable Ballymoney Council to ensure that any developmental help it offers will be of real benefit, we need businesses to tell us what help and support they require.’ The deadline for receipt of completed questionnaires is Wednesday 31st March 2010 at 5.00 pm.

There are over 1,450 VAT/PAYE businesses in the Ballymoney borough and it is estimated that there are approximately twice this number of businesses below the VAT threshold and/or have no employees. The Council’s Development Unit recognises that its current databases of businesses in the Borough is limited and would ask all businesses to take part in this opportunity to decide what developmental help they are given in the future.

Copies of the survey are available from the business section of www.ballymoney.gov.uk. Copies can also be obtained from Ballymoney Borough Council’s Economic Development Unit by either telephoning (028) 2766 0253 or by sending a request via email to [email protected].
