Council chair honours Paul McLister

THE chairperson of Moyle District Council has honoured a Ballycastle man for "being an inspiration to all young people."

Cara McShane presented Paul McLister with a Moyle Council plaque at function in the Marine Hotel in recognition of him receiving a Disability in Sport award from Antrim Borough Council.

Paul plays basketball in Antrim and regularly travels hundreds of miles both in an organisational and playing capacity for his team.

Although confined to a wheelchair, Paul (22) has shown remarkable determination in his life. He is currently studying for a degree at University and has never allowed his disability to interfere from living a normal life.

Cllr. McShane told the Times: "I just think this young man is remarkable and an inspiration to all young people. He has not allowed his disability to hold him back and he displays great strength and courage in all he does."

Cllr. McShane also praised Paul's parents for their very positive approach to his upbringing.
