Council extend sympathy to Johnston family

A LETTER of condolence is to be sent by Ballymena Borough Council to the family of a local man who made a sterling contribution to the local museum, the late Sam Johnston.

Grange man, Mr Johnston, who was the brother-in-law of local councillor Alderman William McNeill, passed away on September 29.

Sympathy was extended to his family at the outset of last Monday night’s monthly Council meeting by the Mayor Maurice Mills and tributes were paid to Mr Johnston by Cllr Robin Cherry and Alderman James Alexander.

“He was a man very highly regarded in the community not least for his museum exhibition on early agriculture which ran for months on end,” said Cllr Alexander.
