Council funding 20 peace jobs in Maiden City

A PEACE group dedicated to the promotion of better community relations between Protestants and Catholics is currently funding twenty jobs in Londonderry.

The Office of First and Deputy First Minister (OFMDFM) revealed the information in response to a query tabled by Lord Morrow at the Stormont Assembly.

The job titles for each post funded by the Community Relations Council in Londonderry include two directors and two co-ordinators employed by The Junction and the Holywell Trust.

The Londonderry Peace and Reconciliation Group employs a director, a finance officer, a training officer and a project officer, all funded by the CRC.

Community Action for Locally Managing Stress, Columba House and Cunamh all employ two co-ordinator/administrators each.

WAVE employs an art therapist, an area co-ordinator, a development worker; Derry Well Women employs a project co-ordinator; Lifeways Psychotherapy employs a director/counsellor; and the United Services Club employs a co-ordinator - all funded through peace money.
