Council funding opportunity for local community groups

Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council is delighted to announce that its Grant Aid Programme for 2016/17 is now open for applications until Friday, February 5 at 12 noon.

All constituted community and voluntary groups within the borough are invited to come along to information sessions and find out more about the funding and assessment criteria, as well as the application process.

Last year, 103 local groups benefitted financially from the scheme, which provides support in a number of different categories such as a seeding grant, grants for premises, outreach and involvement activities, summer schemes, technical assistance, festivals and insurance for programmes.

The Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Thomas Hogg, said: “I would encourage every group to come along to the grant information sessions as this is your chance to ask any questions you may have.

“Staff will be on hand to guide groups through what’s available and how to apply.

“This is the perfect opportunity to access funding from the Council and I would advise all groups who will require funding from April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017 to apply now.”

Any group considering applying to the new scheme should attend the grant information session at Antrim Civic Centre on Monday, January 11 at 3pm to 5pm or 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
