'Council is wasting ratepayers' money'

After reading your article “Council Seeks Legal Advice”, I have to ask the question, is it me or has the councillor Mr David Jones lost the plot?

I refer to his outburst in the chamber where he called Mr O’Dowd an insulting tw*t. Not that I’m insinuating he’s a bad judge of character, but I’m referring to his outburst and then his refusal to leave the chamber on the request of the Mayor.

But what takes the biscuit is that he requests that the Borough solicitor give advice on what to do after he refused to leave the meeting. I mean to say how much as a ratepayer to this council do I have to take.

Let’s see, can we list a top 10 of the most idiotic things these councillors have done with our rate payments to this council? I’ll kick us off.

1. Pay off a chief executive, bring in an interim one and pay him 600 a day plus expenses.

2. Pay off a director and bring in an interim one on 400 a day plus expenses.

3. Start an enquiry, the so-called ‘Heaton Report’ and refuse to publish its findings.

4. Erect wind turbines that have never turned.
