Council man welcomed back after taking ill

COOKSTOWN District Council welcomed back its Director of Corporate Services this month who took seriously ill just over two months ago.

Hard-working council manager Ivor Paisley suffered a major heart attack nine weeks ago and after a period in hospital attended his first full meeting last Tuesday night.

SDLP councillor James McGarvey led the welcomes, followed by Sinn Fein’s John McNamee, and Cookstown District Chief Executive Adrian McCreesh.

Mr Paisley, whose department provides financial, personnel and Information Technology services to the Council’s main spending departments, thanked the members, adding that he was glad to be back.

The Corporate Services Director returned to work on February 22nd, just over a month from suffering a heart attack on January 9th. Tuesday, March 14th was his first official council meeting since taking ill.
