“Today is not only a day of remembrance; it is also an opportunity to highlight the preventable nature of most workplace incidents and to promote campaigns to improve workplace safety for all,” Cllr Hogg commented.

“While Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council has not had any fatalities through workplace accidents, other employers throughout the borough have sadly experienced tragic incidents in their workplace.”

The Workers’ Memorial Day remembrance tree was planted at the entrance to Mossley Mill.
