The purpose of the plan is to describe how the authority will realise its vision by setting out a number of strategic priorities, which it aims to focus on over the next four years.

With a mission statement of ‘working together to create a better future for all’, the council has identified five strategic priorities:

• Growing the economy;

• Developing its tourism potential;

• Building stronger communities;

• Delivering excellent services;

• Developing a high performing council.

Commenting on the consultation, chairman Alderman Billy Ashe said:“As a council we believe it is very important that our strategic priorities reflect those of the people we serve.

“We are therefore inviting comments on the draft plan from all citizens and representatives of community groups, businesses large or small, and the council’s many partners in the public, private, or voluntary sectors.”

The draft Corporate Plan can be found on the council’s interim website www.midandeastantrim.gov.uk

The closing date for receipt of responses to this consultation is February 20, 2015.
