Council says probe into dog attacks '˜not completed'

Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding two dog attacks near the entrance to Havelock Park in Banbridge earlier this month.

Shortly after the story went to print, the owner of one of the dogs that was attacked got it touch to say that the bull terrier-type dog suspected of being responsible for both attacks had been located by the council’s dog warden.

The local authority has thanked members of the public who came forward to assist the investigation, but stressed that the probe into the matter is still ongoing.

“As the investigation has not been completed, we are not in a position to make any further comment at this stage. When it is complete, we will issue a statement about the outcome,” the spokesperson said.
