Council sympathy

A LETTER of sympathy is on its way from Ballymena Borough Council to the family of the late Cardinal Cahal Daly who died on New Year's Eve, aged 92.

The condolence correspondence was proposed at last Monday night’s monthly meeting of the local authority by the Mayor, Councillor James Currie, and was supported by all present, with the exception of Cllr Sammy Gaston who asked that his opposition be recorded.

Council also agreed a proposal by Cllr Monica Digney to send a letter of sympathy to the family of Paul Hazzard who died last month after a fall at a quarry on the outskirts of Ballymena.
