Last week, we were contacted by a number of Portstewart residents, including one businessman.

The residents said that they were ‘concerned’ that the area, which attracts many visitors all through the year, was not being repaired.

“There is no doubt that the Crescent attracts tourists to the area, but not only that it is used by local families,” said one resident, who is a mother of three.

“Local businesses will suffer if this area is not fixed up in time for the tourist season.”

We contacted Coleraine Borough Council.

They confirmed that the area will be repaired.

In a statement the Council said that The Crescent area of Portstewart was being ‘assessed’.

The statement also confirmed that a ‘number of new items would be completed in time for Easter.’
