The new ‘Super authority’ will strike its rate for 2016/17 at a special meeting in The Braid on February 11 at 6.30pm.

The date was confirmed last night (Monday) at Council’s February monthly meeting by the Mayor, Cllr Billy Ashe who pointed out that the new rate will deliver a multi-million pound capital plan across the borough.

He told councillors he believed it “will be a very prudent and progressive rate”.
