Council unit reach awards final for the third year in a row

The local team have reached the final of the prestigious awards in the Best Service Team - Construction and Building Maintenance category.

This is the third consecutive year that the submissions from the Building Control unti have been shortlisted in this category.

The team have said they are delighted to have achieved this accolade as an inidcation of their commitment to quality and service provision.

The Awards this year attracted over 375 submissions by organisations from across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland,

The Awards ceremony will be held on September 11, 2014 at the Nottingham Ice Arena.

At a recent meeting of Lisburn City Council’s Planning Committee, it was agreed that both the Chairman and the Vice Chairman of the committee should attend the awards event later in the year.

Speaking at this week’s meeting of the Planning Committee, Chairman Uel Mackin congratulated the unit on their success in reaching the finals of the awards.

“To have three consecutive years of nominations is quite an achievement,” said Mr Mackin.

“This accolade shows that the Building Control team is at the forefront of their profession and are at the cutting edge of their field.

“The team work very hard and are keen to be up there with the very best.”

Mr Mackin asked that the appreciation of the Planning Committee and their congratulations be passed on to the team.

The Chairman of the Council’s Planning Committee also wished theBuilding Control Unit every success at the awards ceremony next month.
