Council welcomes Post Office moderisation plans

THERE will be no post office closures in the next two years.

That was the news given to councillors attending last Tuesday’s Policy and Development committee as Mark Gibson of the Post Office Network gave a presentation on Post Office modernisation plans.

The meeting heard that over the next few years 6,000 branches in Northern Ireland will be transformed as part of a modernisation programme.

The programme is being assisted by a £1.34 billion boost from the Government.

Members welcomed the changes and thanked Mr Gibson for his presentation.
