Council workshop to reduce waste

COLERAINE Borough Council's Economic Development team have teamed up with Invest NI to offer a free sustainable development workshop to local businesses and organisations.

The one-day event aims to educate businesses about how to reduce overheads and make savings through better management of energy and resources and will take place on Wednesday, October 6 at 12 noon.

The Carbon Trust, Envirowise, Invest NI and the National Industrial Symbiosis Programme will give short presentations at the workshop before businesses and representatives will be invited to participate in one to one advisory sessions covering energy management and sustainable development matters.

Local businesses can benefit greatly from this event if they wish to save money by reducing waste or to explore business opportunities in an ever expanding sustainable development marketplace.

Speaking ahead of the event, Linda Williams, Economic Development Manager at Coleraine Borough Council, said: “The sustainable development workshop is part of a programme of events aimed at addressing current business issues. We hope that by hosting this event we can encourage local businesses to make small changes that could potentially save them money.”
