Councillor welcomes boutique opening

THE opening of the "Little Boutique" at Alana Interiors has been welcomed by Ulster Unionist Craigavon councillor Jo-Anne Dobson.

Describing Alana Interiors as a “major asset to Lurgan”, Jo-Anne said: “This family business, established 12 years ago, is owned by husband and wife team Carol and Ian Little.

"They relocated from their Queen’s Place premises to larger premises at Kitchen Hill, just a short walk from the town centre, in June 2008. Further expansion followed in November 2009 to allow for the opening of the boutique in 2010.

“I am delighted that the Little family has chosen to remain in Lurgan and create more jobs. At a time of economic downturn they traded through very difficult conditions and could have relocated their business to any other town, however, I am delighted that they chose to invest and put their confidence in Lurgan."

Councillor Dobson concluded by saying: “I will continue to promote Lurgan as a town which offers a great range of individual, independently owned shops - in effect offering the customer something different.

"I know that development needs to be balanced and I want to encourage inward investment to the town while supporting our local businesses to grow."
