Councillor’s pat on back for work to ‘eyesore’

COUNCILLORS and officers who have been involved in planning environmental improvements to a long-standing eyesore in Ballymoney have been congratulated on their efforts.

Welcoming confirmation of a contract for works on buildings at Linenhall Street/Charles Street, Councillor John Finlay said the scheme would fairly help to improve the streets.

He went on to congratulate the chairman of the committee responsible, Councillor Bill Kennedy, on the work he had done on this issue.

“I know the committee work hard to try and improe the standard of the town and this isn’t easy when we are in an economic downturn,” Councillor Finlay said.

The DUP representative also congratulated the officers who he said were also trying to do something good for Ballymoney.

Companies with experience in design of virtual shops were invited to tender.

Permission from the building owners to carry out the work has been obtained and it is recommended that Council enter into a wayleave agreement with the building owner with regard to the contract works and maintenance of the virtual window screens.
