Councillors praise Armoy races

COUNCILLORS in Moyle have praised the organisers of Armoy Road Races following the event on Saturday 7 August.

Chairman of the council, Price McConaghy, said the whole day was “marvellous”.

“I enjoyed it immensely, as did the spectators,” he added.

“Congratulations go to Armoy Motorcycle Road Racing Club on a successful event and I’m sure that will be the case for many years to come.”

Councillor Paudie McShane said: “It was an excellent day’s racing and an excellent event all together.

“It’s a great financial institution for bringing money into Moyle.”

Councillor Cathal Newcombe said: “I would like to congratulate the stewards and the PSNI on the efficient way it was managed. It worked perfectly.”

Robert McIlroy praised David and Olive Dunlop’s caravan facilities where scores of visitors stayed.

He proposed the council hold a reception for the pair in the future which was agreed on by other members.
