Plans are also progressing on a replacement for Waveney Community Centre and Changing Rooms to service pitches at Waveney Playing Fields.

Proposals have been made to fund a floodlit 4g pitch at Ballymena Showgrounds to provide additional all weather facilities for teams in the borough.

In addition, Council will have the final consultant’s maintenance report on all grass pitches to inform its future investment in upgrading its current stock of grass pitches.

It has already agreed to a 40k investment in upgrading this year and additional funds are being sought for next year through the current estimates process.
