Countdown is on to ‘Big Tent Event’

THE countdown has begun for the ‘Big Tent Event’, which is to be held on the grounds of Donaghcloney Primary School the last weekend in July.

The three day event, which is being run by Donaghcloney Elim Church, will feature a family fun day, live music, interviews with sports personalities, thought provoking talks and testimonies and fellowship with friends old and new.

With admission and activities completely FREE, this really will be an event for the whole family and everyone is welcome.

On the opening night on Friday July 27 at 7:30pm music will be by the acclaimed band Inflame and Donaghcloney Elim’s own Gary Anderson.

The speaker will be former Northern Ireland footballer, Pastor Stuart Elliott. There will also be interviews with Andrew Ferguson from Lisburn Distillery F.C. and Waringstown cricketer, Glen Addicott from South Africa.

On Saturday afternoon there will be interviews at 12 noon with Andrew Ferguson (Lisburn Distillery) and Robert Baillie (Athletes in Action), and that’s followed by a family fun day, which will certainly have something for everyone to enjoy. And what’s better - admission and all activities are free.

Five time Irish Downhill Mountain Bike champion, Colin ‘Rosco’ Ross will wheelie his way in to put on an exhilarating mountain bike stunt display which you won’t want to miss.

The Fun Day will also feature a PSNI dog handling display, a birds of prey display and handling team and the Ulster Military Vehicles Club. Other attractions will include pony rides, a bouncy castle and assault run, a climbing wall and there will be soccer training and competitions with Athletes in Action, a group of Christian sportsmen and women. There will also be puppet shows staged throughout the afternoon, stalls, refreshments and much, much more.

On 7.30pm on the Saturday music at the evening service will be by Soulfire Worship and speakers will be Ulster Rugby scrum-half, Paul Marshall and Pastor Ken Davidson, Donaghcloney Elim Church.

The final evening of The Big Tent Event, will feature Music from Gospel harmony trio, Revelation as well as Donaghcloney Elim’s praise band. Speaking will be Roy Walker, former manager of Ballymena United and Glenavon Football Club. Pastor Ken Davidson will also be speaking. This gets underway at 6.30pm

After the service in the big tent, which will accommodate 1,000 people, there will be a special healing service at 8.30pm. Pastor Ken Davidson will be speaking and Paul Robinson will be giving his testimony of healing from cancer. Music will be by Gary Anderson and also Pamela Robinson.
