Country roads lead to the Fanfayre

The 11th annual Curtis Magee Fanfayre takes place once again in The Lodge Hotel, Coleraine, from Sunday, June 19 to Wednesday, June 22.

Following on from the success of the past ten years, this highly successful event will once again see fans, friends and followers of this popular singer and top entertainer descend into the town of Coleraine from all over the UK and Ireland.

Curtis told the Times: “The Fanfayre has regular patrons that come back year after year, they love it and it’s part of their of annual vacation and they always have a cracking good time.

“For those staying in the hotel for the four nights of entertainment, we also arrange trips out during the day to all the local beauty spots around the North Antrim coast.

“I also arrange a very special afternoon of music for the local special needs and day centres in the area, and we always have a great time of dancing, music and fun, it’s the one day of the Fanfayre that I look forward to most.”

Curtis has raised over £25.000 for various charities at the Fanfayre over the past ten years, and last year he raised £3,000 for Mountfern Adult Centre.

On Sunday, June 19, Curtis will be joined on stage by the multi talented musician Johnny Fingers McHugh, plus guest artistes The Barry Doyle Duo, Boxcar Brian and Caitlin.

Resident for the entire week of the Fanfayre will be compere and comedian from CoFermanagh, Gary Wilson “Ireland’s King of Laughter”.

Monday, June 20 sees an array of stars join Curtis for the night, none more popular than fellow Strabane man and everyone’s favourite ‘Uncle’, BBC Radio Ulster’s very own

Hugo Duncan.

Also on stage is a young man making a huge name for himself on the country music scene, Jordan Mogey from Ballymoney, along with Little Miss Dynamite herself Irene Bates, plus Country Harmony, Johnny Fingers McHugh and Gary Wilson.

On Tuesday, June 21, Curtis welcomes ‘Ireland’s Queen of Country’ Susan McCann and the very popular Shawn Cuddy.

Also appearing are Country Harmony, Johnny Fingers McHugh and Gary Wilson.

The Farewell Party night, on Wednesday, June 22 sees Curtis on stage with his two beautiful singing daughters Natasha and Shannon.

Also making his first appearance will be young singing sensation Owen Mac, from Coleraine, No1 Elvis tribute performer Andy Rodgers plus Johnny Fingers McHugh and Gary Wilson.
