Couple assaulted in house in Poleglass

A gang burst into a house in Poleglass, chased a schoolboy and then assaulted a couple at the same premises at the weekend.

Detectives in Lisburn are appealing for information following what they have described as an aggravated type burglary in the Pembroke Loop Road area of West Belfast on Sunday afternoon, July 21.

At approximately 1.10pm it was reported that one male with a hurley stick and three females forced their way in to a house. The gang then assaulted a 33-year-old female and a 39-year-old male.

Neither sustained any serious injuries in the attack.

A 14 year old boy who was in the house at the time was not injured.

The boy was later chased by the male.

Three females aged 34, 32 and 16 were arrested a short time later and, following interview, have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
