Courthouse closes for nine months

BALLYMENA courthouse closed this week for nine months to allow essential maintenance and improvement works to be carried out.

The Northern Ireland Courts and Tribunals Service are undertaking works primarily designed to address faults with the roof of the Grade B listed building fronting onto the Ballymoney Road, which has resulted in significant water ingress to the building’s walls.

Additional works will also be undertaken to address the recommendations arising from a recent survey of the building’s accessibility, specifically with regard to disabled court users.
