The initiative has been co-ordinated by East Antrim DUP MLA David Hilditch and a number of businesses, community groups and faith-based organisations.

The response has been in conjunction with the hospitality sectors’s Costello’s, China Kitchen and Creed Coffee - all donating their time to create meals during this very difficult and challenging period.

Carrickfergus Peace Impact Project, Sunnylands and Woodburn Community Group, Castlemara Community Group, Greenisland Community Council, Cithrah, Mid and East Antrim Agewell Partnership, East Antrim DUP, Victoria Evangelical Hall, Carrickfergus Free Presbyterian Church, Friends of the 36th, PAKT and many more, have been essential in the distribution, say the organisers.

Mr Hilditch said: “This has been an example of true teamwork during these difficult times. I cannot thank everyone enough for their dedication and enthusiasm and especially to our local businesses who, without them, this level of delivery on the ground would have been impossible.

“We hope to continue this level of distribution for as long as possible, ensuring that we can help as many people in need during these times.”
