Cow deaths in Kilrea suspicious
Neighbourhood Police in Coleraine are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of five cows that occurred in the Carrowreagh Road area of Kilrea on Monday 26 May.
It is believed that the cows died as a result of a powder that was thrown into a field in the area sometime between the evening of Sunday 25 May and Monday 26 May. It is believed that this powder was consumed and was poisonous to the cows, resulting in their death. At this time it is not known whether this was done deliberately against the cows or whether it was irresponsibly tipped in the field.
Anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area or anyone who knows anything about this incident is asked to contact the Neighbourhood Policing Team in Coleraine Police Station on the non-emergency number 101.
