POLICE trying to root out those responsible for anti-social behaviour in the vicinity of the Galgorm shops have hand delivered letters to residents appealing for information.

Neighbourhood Constable Trevor Fenwick, who delivered the correspondence himself, has received numerous complaints of incidents such a stone throwing, abusive language and criminal damage in the area.

Issuing an appeal for residents and business owners to come forward with info., he said: "I am aware that there is a public reluctance of reporting these incidents, as some are frightened of repercussions.

"I can help alleviate these fears by talking to you in person or on the phone, information to the police is treated in confidence and your identity will not be disclosed.

"Please help your community and yourself by reporting the offenders".
