Crafts with Love get a Lidl helping hand!

Local community group ‘Crafts with Love’ is among one of 32 groups chosen to receive valuable support from Lidl, as part of the retailer’s Community Works initiative.

Last week the Lidl crew visited the group at Managher Road and presented them with funding to purchase an array of new wool and knitting needles to enable them to continue holding their craft workshops around the community.

The Lidl Community Works initiative launched in June of this year and will see Lidl Northern Ireland backing local community groups and projects from all over the province.

After the visit from the crew, group spokesperson, Roberta Campbell, said, “We are thrilled to have been chosen as one of the final groups.

“Our group has been running in the community for 12 years now with the purpose of raising money for local children’s charities while allowing our members to partake in a hobby they enjoy and it feels great to be recognised for our efforts.

“We are so thankful to Lidl for this opportunity and we’re really excited about the new prospects their donation will help us to fulfil”.

Siobahn from Lidl added: “This is the stage we’ve all been waiting for – the chance to get out and about into the heart of communities right across Northern Ireland to see first-hand the great work that each of the groups has been doing in their local areas.

“We’re delighted to be able to give something back to those that need it most and hopefully this support will help them out on their journey.”
