Crafty goings on at Guildhall

ALL roads lead to the Guildhall this weekend for the start of the city's festive season as the annual Crafts Fair gets underway.

The Fair, which takes place from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th November, is the perfect way to start the Christmas preparations with 40 exhibitors from all over Ireland offering a wide range of unique handcrafted gift ideas.

The Mayor, Cllr Colum Eastwood is encouraging the public to come along and support the event.

"The Guildhall Craft Fair is a great event. It's a fantastic opportunity to purchase unique gifts and to sample the work of talented entrepreneurs and craft producers from across the country.

"If you are around the city over the weekend, make sure and drop into the Guildhall and experience the fair for yourself."

In addition to craft exhibits, there will be free craft workshops for children taking place over the weekend as well as musical performances from the Codetta choir, the Calgach Singers and the Foyle Harp School.

The Guildhall Craft Fair opens from 2pm to 8pm on Friday 12th November and continues over the weekend of Saturday 13th (10am to 6pm) and Sunday 14th (11am to 5pm).

Entrance fee is 1. Further information on the craft fair and the exhibitors attending the event can be found by visiting www.derrycity.gov.uk/crafts.
