Craig urges public to help stop break-ins

He was speaking after jewellery was stolen from an elderly woman’s house on the Causeway End Park in the early hours of Saturday morning and reports of break-ins in the Kensington area of Lisburn.

When the woman returned after being out walking her dog she noticed two males running from the rear of her property.

She discovered that her house had been entered and some jewellery stolen.

Inspector Alexander Johnston from Lisburn PSNI appealed for anyone who was in the Causeway End Park at the time and observed any suspicious activity or who has any information to contact CID in Lisburn on the non-emergency number 101 or ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Mr Craig also spoke of his concern of three breakins in the weeks leading up to Christmas, in Kensington who he believes were carried out by the same burglars.

“There are a couple of individuals that seemed to be targetting houses in the Kensington area,” he said. “It is despicable that this was happening especially at a time like Christmas. It must have been very frightening and disturbing for these people affected.

“I would appeal to the public to help PSNI catch these burglars and report anything suspicious. Just one piece of information might be vital in catching these burglars.”
