Craigavon manis fined £275

A CRAIGAVON man was fined £275 at Craigavon Magistrates Court on Friday after he admitted disorderly behaviour and resisting police.

Paul McClure (21), of Parkmore, pleaded guilty to both charges which related to an incident in West Street, Portadown, on June 26.

A prosecution lawyer told the court that at 1.35 in the morning, police saw the defendant in West Street. He shouted obscenities at the officers and continued to do so, despite being asked to stop.

The defendant was arrested and escorted to a police vehicle where he tried to resist police.

Defence solicitor, Mr Conor Downey, said McClure was now in full-time employment and could only but apologise for what happened. “He is very disappointed with his behaviour as is his family,” he added.

District Judge, Mr Alan White, told McClure it was time for him to him to “get a grip” on his drinking.

He fined him 125 on the disorderly behaviour charge and 150 for resisting police.
