Creeper burglaries: police issue appeal

Detectives in Coleraine are appealing for information following reports of creeper type burglaries in Coleraine and Portstewart.

Some time between 1.30am and 2.30am on Thursday, December 27, a house in the Millfield Village area Portstewart was entered and the keys to a car stolen.

A green Corsa was stolen from the property and was found crashed in the Mill Road area. Portstewart at approximately 2.30am.

A 21 year old man was arrested in relation to this incident and released on bail, pending further police enquiries.

Later the same day a house at Mount Street in Coleraine was entered between 6.00pm and 8.00pm the house and the keys for a car stolen.

A blue Renault Clio was stolen from the property. It was found crashed shortly after 8.05pm in the Hanover Place area of Coleraine.

Detectives would ask anyone who may have witnessed anyone running from these crashed vehicles or who has any information to contact them at Coleraine on 0845 600 8000.
