Creeper burglary arrest

A man has been arrested after a jeep was stolen in a creeper burglary in the Mallusk area.

The incident happened at around 7am on Wednesday (May 22), when a silver Chrysler 300 jeep was stolen from a house in Highgate Manor.

Just after 7am, the stolen vehicle, registration number JBX JX, failed to stop for police in the Hightown Road area while it was heading in the direction of the Crumlin Road in north Belfast.

Between 8.45am and 9am, the stolen vehicle was seen in the Shankill Road and Shore Road areas.

Just after 9am, the jeep was located in Brae Hill.

Four men made off from the vehicle, three in the direction of Silverstream, the other in the direction of Crumlin Road.

A 20-year-old man was later arrested in the Silverstream Road area at around 9.10am on suspicion of burglary and taking and driving away.

He is assisting police with their enquiries.

Police have appealed for information on the whereabouts of three males, in their late teens or early 20s, who are believed to have been involved in the burglary.

Anyone who knows of the whereabouts of the three males, or who noticed any suspicious activity in any of these areas, is asked to contact the PSNI.
