Creightons staff step up to support Hospice walk

FINAGHY: Staff at Creightons of Finaghy will be doing an extra few laps of the garage forecourt in preparation for the 2012 Hospice Walk along the Lagan Tow Path on Saturday March 24. Now in their eighth year of the partnership, the staff are encouraging their customers to lace up and join them as they step out to raise money for Northern Ireland Hospice.

Setting the pace for the walk and hoping for the biggest turnout yet, Manager of Creightons Andrew Porter said: “It has become an annual tradition for Creightons staff and their families to join the hundreds of hospice walkers on the Lagan Tow Path, and this year will be no exception. It is always a great day out for all our staff and customers, and we are looking forward to welcoming even more new faces this year. There is always a great buzz on the day as everyone steps out together to do a great thing for NI Hospice.”

Creightons of Finaghy are sponsors of the Lagan Tow Path Walk which is one of ten different walks taking place across Northern Ireland between Saturday 24th and 31st March 2012. The Lagan Tow Path route consists of two walk routes – an eight mile walk from Lagan Valley Civic Centre, Lisburn and a three mile walk from Cutters Wharf, Belfast with both walks ending at Belfast Activity Centre, Barnett’s Park. Last year the event attracted its biggest turnout yet with over 500 people and this year it is hoped to be even better.

Speaking of the importance of the Hospice Walk, Events Manager for NI Hospice, Joanna Pawson said, “The 2012 walk needs to raise £180,000 to ensure that every family coping with a serious illness gets the help that they need. Every pound raised or donated will make a difference. We are extremely pleased to have Creightons of Finaghy on board as a sponsor of the Lagan Tow Path once again and I have no doubt that they will continue to build on their success from previous years.”
