Crime prevention packs are issued to businesses

Police in Banbridge are working with local business owners to help them protect their premises, merchandise and staff.

Crime Prevention Officer for Banbridge and Craigavon, Michelle Wilson, has designed a handy, crime prevention reference pack for all business owners and has worked with Banbridge Policing and Community Safety Partnership (PCSP) to reach all businesses in the Banbridge area.

Michelle explained: “It is vitally important that all business owners are equipped with the correct information to protect their premises, merchandise and staff and the reference packs provide a simple solution.

“I worked with Banbridge PCSP to promote the scheme and they have posted out packs to small and medium enterprises in the Banbridge area.

“The packs are a reference tool for business owners.

“They contain information on a wide range of subjects from counterfeit notes, to protecting your premises, to dealing with theft.

“I have also attended a number of PCSP hosted workshops across E District to deliver presentations directly to business owners and answer any questions they may have.

“I would invite any business owner who has not received a pack or who would like more crime prevention advice to contact me on the 101 non-emergency number.”

Cllr Seamus Doyle, Chairman of Banbridge PCSP, continued: “The PCSP is keen to support any activities that enable local businesses and retailers across the District to prevent their businesses and their staff from becoming victims of crime.

“By putting in to practice the practical and often ‘no-cost’ measures that are detailed in the information pack, you can help to ensure that your staff and your business are protected.”
