Accused of indecent assault on child

A 73 year old man has been sent for trial to Craigavon Crown Court accused of indecently assaulting a female child over 40 years ago.

Patrick Creaney, of Gawley’s Gate, Craigavon, appeared last Friday at a preliminary enquiry at the local courthouse.

In total he faces five charges which are alleged to have happened between December 23, 1966, and December 24, 1968.

Four charges of indecent assault involve the same female child while the fifth charge involves gross indecency against a female under the age of 13.

Creaney was remanded in custody to appear for arraignment at Craigavon Crown Court on September 4.
