Appeal on assault
Detectives in Foyle are appealing for information following the report of an assault in the William Street area in the early hours of Sunday, January 6.
It was reported that sometime between 2.30am and 2.45am following an altercation involving a number of people outside a taxi depot a man was attacked by a male with a bottle and struck several times around the head.
The man was later treated in hospital for cuts to his head and ear. It is believed the attacker made off with a group of males in the direction of Victoria car park.
Police would ask anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact CID at Strand Road.
