Appeal over burglary

Detectives in Londonderry have re-issued their appeal for information following a burglary at the home of an elderly couple which occurred in Ashgrove Park on Tuesday last, January 8.

Sometime between 3.30pm and 8pm, a house was broken into and ransacked. Extensive damage was caused to the interior of the property. A significant amount of jewellery was stolen, many items of sentimental value.

Some of the pieces of jewellery stolen were: A gold and diamond pendant and chain with a distinctive red dot, a 9ct diamond cut cross and chain, a gold broach with rubies, a gold three bar gate bracelet, a gold rope link chain, a pair of gold stud earrings in a rope/knot design, a gold belcher link chain, a triangular Celtic ‘trinity’ pendant, a scapular pendant and fob engraved with letter ‘M’ above on double chain, a triangular Celtic ‘trinity’ earrings, a pair of silver wave design hoop earrings and a ladies lotus wrist watch.

Anyone who knows anything about these items being sold in suspicious circumstances or has any information is asked to contact Detectives at Strand Road station.
