Arrest

Police have also conducted a search of a house in the Creggan area of the city. A number of items have been seized for specialist examination including a quantity of suspected Firearms, believed to be similar to those used in attacks in the city.

During the proactive operation into serious crime in the area, police came under attack with petrol bombs and stones thrown at police. The area is now calm.

It is understood that the operation was in relation to criminal activity by RAAD.
