Arrests made after suspected drugs seized in Newtownabbey

Two people have been arrested after a quantity of suspected Class A and Class B drugs were seized during a search operation in Newtownabbey today (Wednesday).

Detailing the operation in a post on social media, a PSNI spokesperson said: “Today Newtownabbey Neighbourhood Policing Team conducted a search of a property in the Newtownabbey area. As a result of the search a substantial quantity of cash, suspect Class A and Class B drugs and other items were seized.

“The pictures attached are just some of the items seized. Disturbingly, as you will see in the images, the Cheeto puffs are not ordinary, innocent snacks, they contain the psychoactive substance THC. Who knows the consequences if they got into the hands of an innocent child.

“Two persons have been arrested for a number of offences.”
