Bail application was adjourned
An application for compassionate bail on behalf of a prisoner in custody awaiting trial has been adjourned that so the court can avail of medical reports.
John Nixon (30), of Harty Court applied for bail so he can spend time with his father who has early onset dementia. Making the application, Walter Hegarty, defending, said compassionate bail might be Nixon’s last chance to have real or meaningful contact with his father.
Nixon is awaiting trial on a GBH with Intent charge. Police objected to bail and the court asked for a full medical report on Nixon’s father.
