Bail check arrests

POLICE in Londonderry have arrested sixteen people after carrying out over 100 bail checks in the last month.

Officers conducted over 100 curfew checks during October and and have visited numerous homes looking for persons who have outstanding arrest warrants. Thirty-five persons were arrested for outstanding warrants and sixteen for breaching their bail conditions.

Chief Inspector Jon Burrows said yesterday: “There is a simple message to those subjected to curfews - expect us to knock your door and if you are not in expect to be arrested.”
