Bann drowning: Arrested man is transferred to psychiatric accommodation
A 26 year old man arrested as part of the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Owen McKeown in Kilrea last Saturday has been transferred to secure psychiatric accommodation following a medical assessment. Police enquiries into the incident are continuing.
He had been arrested along with two other men aged 25 and 30 from the Ballymena area but they have since been released. Detectives had been granted a further 36 hours to question the 26-year-old on Monday.
Results of the post mortem investigation on Owen McKeown have not been released.
