Bottles smashed in Glengormley children’s play area

Staff from Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council were tasked to clear broken glass after anti-social behaviour in Lilian Bland Park on Tuesday night (December 9).

A number of beer bottles were smashed at the children’s play park at the council-owned facility.

In a statement issued to the Times yesterday (Wednesday), a spokesperson for the local authority said: “The council were made aware of the incident this morning.

“The Parks team has since cleaned up the area.”

A PSNI spokesperson confirmed that police are aware of the issue.

There has been an increase in the number of anti-social incidents being reported in Newtownabbey area over recent weeks with Lilian Bland being one of the areas impacted.
