Burglars ‘looking for drugs’
Detectives in Newtownabbey have appealed for information following a burglary in the Carmeen Drive area of Rathcoole on the evening of Wednesday, September 24.
Detective Sergeant Philip McCullagh said: “We received a report that, at around 10pm, three men entered the house of two elderly ladies claiming they were from a paramilitary organisation and were looking for drugs. They then searched the house but left empty handed.
“The ladies were not hurt during this incident but were left badly shaken,” he said.
Anyone who say any suspicious activity in the area is asked to contact CID in Newtownabbey on the non emergency number 101. Information can also be given through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
