A counterfeit banknote was detected at Station Road Costcutter in Greenisland on Tuesday.

A post on the retailer’s Facebook page read: “Fake notes are about again folks. We have removed this one from the customer as he tried to pass it and he was swiftly sent on his way without it. We check our notes so not worth trying.”
