‘Cannabis infused edibles’ seized in Newtownabbey

Officers from the PSNI’s District Support Team seized a quantity of cannabis infused edibles, designed to look like sweets, in the Newtownabbey area today (Friday).

Commenting on the find, a police spokesperson said: “These products are designed to look appealing to children and are packaged with the intent to replicate legitimate products.

“Please be aware that these products are cannabis and will give the user similar effects to smoking cannabis. They can be quite potent and the danger lies in a delayed onset, meaning the user may take a lot more than intended.

“They are a Class B controlled drug and illegal to possess, sell and supply.”

The cannabis infused edibles were seized on January 14.
